'STOP-DWI' Enforcement Initiative Kicks Off Friday

Nassau police department's Highway Patrol Bureau is planning a "saturation enforcement strategy" that will target areas throughout the county.

Nassau County police will conduct a centralized STOP-DWI enforcement initiative on Fridays and Saturdays throughout August.

The initiative kicks off this Friday, Aug. 2.

The department's Highway Patrol Bureau is coordinating and planning a "saturation enforcement strategy" that will target areas throughout Nassau County, according to an announcement issued by county executive Ed Mangano and police commissioner Thomas Dale.

A "STOP-DWI" grant will enable the department to allocate additional police officers to conduct the enforcement initiative on the following dates:

  • Friday, Aug. 2
  • Saturday, Aug. 3

  • Friday, Aug. 9
  • Saturday, Aug. 10
