Update: Ex-Chief Dominick Santoro Found

The 90-year-old East Meadow resident went missing on Monday.

Update: East Meadow resident Dominick Santoro was found early Tuesday morning and is doing ok, East Meadow Fire Department chief Walter Griffin confirmed. "Thanks to everyone for their concerns and well wishes," he said. "We appreciate what friends and family did looking for him. It had a happy ending and he will be home with his family today."

Original Article: A 90-year-old East Meadow resident suffering from onset dementia has been reported missing, according to a Silver Alert issued Monday evening by the Nassau County Police Department.

Dominick Santoro, a long time volunteer and ex-chief of the East Meadow Fire Department, was last seen at home early Monday morning at approximately 8:30 a.m. He is operating a blue 2009 Chevrolet Aveo (plate #CBP5242).

Santoro is 5'7'' and weighs approximately 170 lbs., according to police.

The Silver Alert Program was established to disseminate immediate information to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing.
