Fundraiser for Dennis Carley Raises More Than $4K

East Meadow resident remains stable after a serious motorcycle accident in Delaware.

Sunday's fundraiser for Dennis Carley, an East Meadow resident critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Delaware earlier this month, raised approximately $4,500 to help pay for his hospital bills.

According to a blog created to provide updates on Carley's progress, the fundraiser, held at R.C. Dugan's in East Meadow, "was absolutely overwhelming."

"While most of Carley's immediate family was unable to attend, extended family was there as well as so, so many friends, parents of friends, former neighbors, old school friends, parents of school friends, co-workers and
friends of his parents, etc. etc." according to the blog.

"Words cannot express how appreciative we are to each and every one for your generosity and are forever indebted for your continued prayers and support," the blog post read.

As of Sunday evening, Carley remained stable. Family and friends are hoping Monday's tests provide some "better news."
