More than 7,500 people helped raise funds for pancreatic cancer research, including East Meadow resident Paul Spataro, who took part in the Lustgarten Foundation’s 13th annual walk at Jones Beach Oct. 13 in memory of his brother.

Since its inception, the Long Island walk has raised more than $9.3 million for pancreatic cancer research. Walkers can participate in a one- or three-mile walk along the boardwalk.

The Lustgarten Foundation is America’s largest private foundation dedicated to funding pancreatic cancer research. With Cablevision’s support 100 percent of all monies raised goes directly to research.
