New Sports Bar Opens in East Meadow

Michael Mussi of Queens dreamed of owning his own bar for many years. He recently fulfilled that dream in East Meadow.

Mussi opened Moose Diggs Sports Bar and Grill in the building that once housed Benchwarmers at 342 Merrick Ave.

"It's  a sit a back and relax type of place," Mussi said. "We already have a good afternoon crowd."

Patrons can watch sports, have drinks and socialize. The bar will start serving food around July 15th when the kitchen is completed.

Mussi said that the bar is for a more mature crowd.

"It's not that college type of bar," he said. "You can come in and relax, bring a date or come with a group of people. It is a nice local spot."
