Renowned A Cappella Group to Perform at EM Jewish Center

The Binghamton Crosbys have won national and international competitions.

The Binghamton Crosbys, Binghamton University's all-male a cappella group, will entertain residents with its latest instrument-less renditions at the East Meadow Jewish Center Thursday.

Founded in 1983, the group performs at various venues across New York State and holds musical workshops with high school music classes. The current group is on their annual winter tour.

The most frequent appearing group in the International Championship for Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) finals round, The Binghamton Crosbys qualified four years and won the championship round in 2003.

Many East Meadow residents were Crosbys, including Scott Eckers, now a member of the renowned Jewish a cappella group Shir Soul. "Other East Meadow residents who were Crosbys will also be at the concert, as will alumni from around Long Island," Eckers said. For a full list of alumni, click here.

The Jan. 9 event is open to the public and begins at 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Email scott@eckers.com for more information or to reserve your tickets. Advanced notice is appreciated but not necessary.
