Now a days it is a mental plea as a shortcut to leniency. I believe law abiding non mental cases should own whatever weapon they desire... BUT..

IMO it's the mental state of the person holding the gun that kills someone, not the gun. Banning…Read More assault style guns or taking them out of retail outdoor stores will not eliminate or shrink the statistics for tragedies like Newton. The mental state of each individual involved in these horrific acts of mass murder is to blame.
Gun laws need to change to protect people and gun owners. Families that have guns in the home should be held responsible for locking guns up and safe guarding them from everyone. Especially someone you know is mentally unstable. Laws do need to change but banning guns is not the solution. Increase the safe guarding laws or the owners lose their right to bear arms!!
