Tree Lighting, Christmas Fair, Toys for Tots This Weekend

Some events this weekend you might want to check out.

If you're looking for something else to do this weekend other than relaxing, you've come to the right place.

Wantagh Preservation Society Holiday Open House

  • Please join us at our Holiday Open House at the Museum on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 2-4 p.m. 
  • Enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies, a visit with Santa (bring your cameras!) and holiday songs by Wantagh High School’s Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Symphonic Orchestra students.
  • The event is rain or shine. We hope to see you all there!
Bellmore Christmas Tree Lighting and Holiday Extravaganza
  • Festivities will include: Christmas Tree Lighting (7 p.m.), A visit from Santa, Live nativity, Festive holiday music, Horse and Carriage rides* (6-9 p.m.)
  • Trolley rides throughout town, refreshments.

Christmas Fair and Silent Auction
  • Find interesting and unique gifts to complete your holiday shopping list! We will have over 60 themed gift baskets and merchandise in the silent auction, vendors, new and slightly used rummage items items, and hot lunch.
  • All activity will take place in the basement of the church. All proceeds will go to Grace Christian Academy. The headmaster will be on hand if you wish to learn more about the school. 
  • All are welcome!
Toys for Tots Christmas Charity Collection
  • Lance Wolff (aka Santa Lance), manager at Miller's Ale House Levittown, and his Miller's Team proudly announce their Christmas Charity Collections. 
  • In the spirit of Christmas, please bring in an unwrapped toy and deposit it to the appropriate bins in the collection areas of the restaurant's lobby. 
Holiday Boutique at First Presbyterian Church in Levittown
  • First Presbyterian Church is hosting a Holiday Boutique on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  
  • Do your holiday shopping with our guest vendors.
St. Rose of Lima Christmas Fair
  • St. Rose of Lima will be holding it's annual Christmas Fair located in the school auditorium.  
  • Choose from a wide variety of items such as gift baskets, crafts, jewelry, toys, and baked good.  In addition, pay a visit to some of our local vendors selling items from The Pampered Chef, Origami Owl, Tastefully Simple, Touch Stone Jewelry, Lia Sophia and so much more. 
  • Come down and get a start on your Christmas shopping!
Free Christmas Concert
  • The Choir of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church will present its annual Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7.  
  • After several years, the choir will debut a new program of Orthodox and Western hymns and carols.  
  • Advent refreshments will be served after the concert.  Admission and reception are both free of charge.  
Massapequa Historical Society Holiday Open House
  • The Historical Society of the Massapequas is holding a Holiday Open House at Old Grace Church (4755 Merrick Road, Massapequa) on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 2-4 p.m. 
  • It will feature singing, storytelling, new exhibits, refreshments and maybe even a surprise appearance by Santa Claus!
Holiday Special at FUMC
  • The Farmingdale United Methodist Church, 407 Main Street (Grant Avenue), will present two performances of the advent opera “Amahl and the Night Visitors” on Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7.  
  • The hour-long opera, by Gian-Carlo Menotti, will be performed in English by professional singers, dancers and chorus under  the direction of David Majoros, D.M.A., Music Director of FUMC.  
  • It's charming story and colorful numbers make it perfect for children.
