Family Fun Day, Library Board Meeting This Week

Apple Pie Cupcakes: The East Meadow Public Library's Simple Cooking Series continues Monday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. On the menu? Apple Pie Cupcakes. A non-refundable $10 materials fee will be collected for each person cooking. Call 794-2570 ext. 560 to check availability.

Family Fun Day: Family Fun Day at Friendly's in East Meadow starts at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9. A percentage of sales will go toward new playground equipment for Tender Tales Nursery School.

Library Board Meeting: The East Meadow Public Library Board meets Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 8 p.m. in the downstairs meeting room. The meeting is open to the public.

Garden City Chamber: The next general meeting of the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce will be held Thursday, Sept. 12, at 6:30 p.m. at Majors Steakhouse, 284 East Meadow Ave. The cost is $25 per person.

Yom Kippur: Yom Kippur begins at sundown Friday, Sept. 13.
