Kiwanis Honors Bowling Green K-Kids

Devon Rafanelli and Kira Gruber were spotlighted at this month's meeting

At its January meeting, the East Meadow Kiwanis Club honored the president and secretary from the K-Kids. 

First, the club honored K-Kids President Devon Rafanelli for her recognition as a by the East Meadow Patch, a local online newspaper. In her feature article on the Patch, Devon was commended for her skills as a student, as a musician and for her community service as a Girl Scout and K-Kids president.

Next, the East Meadow Kiwanis Club, the Long Island South Central Division, the NY District and Kiwanis International recognized K-Kids Secretary Kira Gruber for winning the Kiwanis International greeting card contest not once but twice. Gruber’s friendship/thinking of you and great job cards were selected from entries from K-Kids around the world. Gruber’s was the only entrant selected as the winner in more than one category.

Gruber received an Amazon gift card, two packs of greeting cards featuring her winning designs and two medallions naming her the international winner in two of the four contest categories.
