Mangano to Host Field of Honor

Community members can purchase flags to pay tribute to veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving this country through a Nassau County program called Field of Honor.

Flags can be purchased for $35; payments can be made by writing a check to “Friends of Nassau Recreation” and sent to: “Attn: Flags of Honor, Eisenhower Park Administration Building, 1899 Hempstead Tpke., East Meadow, NY 11554.”

The flags will be placed in the Field of Honor alongside the Theodore Roosevelt Building, located at 1550 Franklin Avenue in Mineola, beginning in October and ending in November.

“The Field of Honor gives members of the community the opportunity to pay tribute to loved ones who have given the ultimate sacrifice of protecting our freedom and our country by serving in the United States Armed Forces,” County Executive Ed Mangano said.
