Alan Beinhacker Named Kiwanian of the Year

A 20-year member of the East Meadow club, Beinhacker has contributed plenty to the East Meadow community.

Outgoing East Meadow Kiwanis president Harry Demiris recently announced that Alan Beinhacker was named the 2011 Kiwanian of the Year.

“I am deeply honored,” Beinhacker said. “I have been in the club for about 20 years and I have never won it before.”

Beinhacker was caught off guard by the award, and he says there’s nothing more rewarding than giving back to the less fortunate.

“For those who are able to give back, it’s truly a great feeling,” he said.

Beinhacker is in charge of a dinner that feeds more than 200 people at Borrelli’s each year, and he also works with Kiwanis to distribute gift baskets to people on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and Passover.
