Family Astronomy Day

Announcing Family Astronomy Day at the East Meadow Library.

Coming this Sunday is our last big public club event for the year, Family Astronomy Day at the East Meadow Library from 1-5 p.m.

Along with StarLab Planetarium programs, we'll have workshops on the Phases of the Moon, the How & Why of Eclipses (with info on a very special upcoming event), MoonZoo where you can help NASA survey our closest celestial neighbor, WorldWide Star Count where you can help map the world's light pollution problems, Space Crafts, astronomy music, NASA's Solar System Ambassador, space face painting, telescopes properly equipped to view the Sun and Moon (the weather forecast is good and the Sun has been very active lately), astronomy posters, plus unusual space food. This is a not to be missed local event, and, the best part is... IT'S FREE! What a great day this will be.

We couldn't do it without the help of a bunch of really dedicated people at the East Meadow Library and the Amateur Observers' Society of NY, www.aosny.org, the Cradle of Aviation Museum which donated use of the StarLab Planetarium and Hofstra University Music and Astronomy Under the Stars program which allowed us to display the wonderful large posters of objects beyond our atmosphere.
