Health resolutions for 2013
Here are New Years" Resolutions for all of us to stay healthy in 2013
It is time for the traditional New Year’s resolution column. I share this with the understanding that health related New Year’s resolutions are made to be KEPT!!!!
1-Be aware of your BMI, Blood pressure, Blood glucose and Blood cholesterol

2-Choose a primary care physician to be your health advisor, counselor and advocate
3-Exercise for 30 minutes five times every week

4-Eat fish three times a week
5-Increase your daily intake of fresh vegetables
6-And fruit
7-If you smoke, stop!!!!
8-Never, ever, drink and drive. Always have a designated driver
9-Have carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, and make sure the batteries are fresh
10- Make sure your children always use the appropriate car seat device
11-Get a good night’s sleep, every night
12-Take time to do what you want to do and forget about work for a while
13- Get the flu vaccine
14-Discuss your health care wishes and advanced directives with your family, and designate a health care proxy
15-Exercise your brain with puzzles, word games and reading
16-Use sunscreen when outdoors
17-Do one thing this year you have always wanted to do, but never got around to doing
18-Identify a web site as a health information resource (i.e. www.medlineplus.gov)
