FOX Reveals New Fall Schedule

FOX tries to capitalize on it's already solid schedule by adding two comedies and a crime drama to its line up. Will they be able to garner good ratings or fall to the cancelation bug?

In recent years, FOX has been a steady network with solid programs and a reality show that changed network TV. FOX stayed true to itself only adding shows that work well with the ones they already have on their canvas.

Unlike NBC, FOX has picked pilots that have worked well for the network in the past and will use their successful counterparts to hopefully garner those same fans to their new shows. 'Bones' has been a solid ratings magnet so what better show to partner with 'Mob Doctor'. Although 'Mob Doctor' did not strike me as a drama that would grab my attention it was not awful.

It follows a doctor who not only works in the hospital but also has her own under ground area where she helps the mobsters. With the 'Bones' audience I would not be shocked if the ratings were solid for this show but the question remains will it stand the test of time?

With 'New Girl' giving FOX a comedy boost, they decided to make Tuesday its go to night for comedies. 'Ben and Kate' center around a brother and sister who reunite as the sister finds out her brother has not really grown up all that much. I thought the trailer was smart and funny. The other new comedy that night is 'The Mindy Project' from the brilliant mind of Mindy Kaling of 'The Office'.

I had such high hopes when I saw that Mindy would be getting her own show since she has done amazing writing for 'The Office' but as I watched the trailer I felt it lacked interest and I saw myself not really caring about the characters. Granted its just a few minutes that we get to see them but I felt disconnected from them. I hope FOX did not show the good parts to 'The Mindy Project' but we shall see when it debuts this fall.

FOX did not have any other new programs set up for the fall but they do have some solid midseason series ready to fill in around the January/February months. 'The Following' which stars Kevin Bacon centers around a serial killer who escapes from prison looking for the one target that got away. Bacon plays the FBI agent that helped catch the killer years prior.

I actually thought this was a strong enough show to make the Fall schedule but apparently FOX had other ideas. The other midseason show was 'The Goodwin Games', a comedy that has three rich kids finding out their father has died and in his will has decided to have his children play a game in order to receive his money. I actually enjoyed the trailer for this and I look forward to watching when it will probably replace 'The Mindy Project' Tell me what you think of FOX's new shows and you can  also take a look at the trailers yourself on the FOX website.

I'll be back soon with ABC's Fall Schedule!
