East Meadow native Tom Schreiber was the top pick overall in last week's Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft.

Schreiber, a senior midfielder at Princeton, a two-time first team All-America selection and three-time All-Ivy honoree, was picked by the Ohio Machine, the Daily Princetonian reported.

“I’m very excited,” Schreiber said in a statement released by the university. “It’s a great honor. There had been a lot of speculation and I just tried to enjoy the process. I’m just grateful for the opportunity to keep playing lacrosse after graduation.”

The St. Anthony's High School graduate had 28 goals and 32 assists last season.
