Hofstra Grad a SportsCenter Star

Genevieve Haney, now a ballgirl for the Philadelphia Phillies, earned national attention after she snagged a line drive Monday night.

From 2004 to 2008, Genevieve Haney played the hot corner - that's third base for non-baseball fans - at Hofstra University.

That experience paid off last night when Haney tracked down a line drive headed towards the stands down the third-base line at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

The catch ended up being highlighted as one of the Top 10 plays of the night on ESPN's SportsCenter.

In an interview with Philly.com, Haney said: "It was a really sharp foul ball that was kind of leveling off, and for safety purposes — like I had a little girl next to me as well. A lot of the times we’ll let the fans get those kind of balls, but since it was a scorcher down the line, I wanted to make sure I got it for protection purposes."

And here is her LinkedIn profile, in case you're looking for a marketing manager or, well, a third baseman.
