It may have taken extra frames, but Sandra Foster was the ultimate opportunist, as her 10th inning single propelled the Jets to a 5-4 victory at
According to Newsday, Foster bluffed a bunt before lining the game-winning single to center field to score Casey Kaplan.
"She was elated," East Meadow coach Stu Fritz told Newsday. "After that hit, she got a lot of hugs at the plate."
With the win, the Jets improved to 8-5 overall, with a 7-3 record in conference play. That puts them in second place behind 9-1 MacArthur.
"In this conference, anyone can win and we respect every opponent," Fritz added. "We've now won two in a row since the loss to MacArthur and I hope that sets us up for a good stretch run."
