Fans Flock to Modell's for Super Bowl Garb

The Giants defeated the 49ers in the AFC Championship, 20-17.

You can't spell "Elite" without "Eli."

As soon as the ball came off of the foot of Lawrence Tynes and sailed in between the uprights at Candlestick Park, the doors opened at East Meadow's , and Giants fans wanted to show their love for "Big Blue."

"We have a two-week window where we’re going to see a nice bit of business," Manager Larry Burkart said. "It’s an immediate impact and then it will be steady until we get to the Super Bowl."

Less than 24 hours after the victory, Modell's already has a full line of products for fans to enjoy the victory with. From t-shirts to sweatshirts to beer classes and car magnets, fans can make sure they have all their G-Men essentials.

A popular item that's sold well early is the blue roster shirt, which features the entire roster of the NFC Champion Giants on the back.

The win certainly provides a nice boost for business to Modell's, and Burkart said that he hopes the locals will be celebrating an even bigger win in two weeks.

"Hopefully, keep your fingers crossed, we’re going to win [the Super Bowl]," he said. "And when we do, we’ll get in plenty of Super Bowl championship stuff."

If the Giants pull off the victory against the Patriots in Indianapolis, Modell's will be open the minute the game ends with championship materials. They will also open at 6 a.m. the following Monday.

Fans are optimistic that things will go the Giants' way on Feb. 5. James Cimilluca, who lives in square, predicted that the Giants would win 23-17.

"It's going to be a really good game," said Jericho resident Scott Krinsky, who predicted the Giants would prevail, 27-7.

The game will be extra special for Westbury resident John Pisano, who will join his bother in New Jersey to take a road trip to Indianapolis due to increasing plane fares.

"Obviously the Giants are going to win it," he said.  "It’s going to be a higher scoring game [than yesterday]. I think the Giants win it, 30-24."
