EM Field Hockey Misses Mark in Playoff Action

Port Washington Vikings defeat East Meadow Jets 2-1 on Wednesday.

East Meadow field hockey lost a heartbreaker to the Port Washington Vikings Wednesday, knocking them out of the playoffs. 

Port Washington advances to the Nassau County championship with the 2-1 win.

Avenging a loss to East Meadow (3-9-1) earlier this season, Port Washington (5-7) scored the first two goals of the game then held on for the win.

Scoring for the Jets was Lexus Turrisi with an assist by Amanda Romeo. Nicole Moniello had 9 saves.

Top performers for Port Washington was Jina Lay with a first half goal, and Chelsie Nachamie who contributed with an unassisted second half goal and an assist.

The Jets end the season with a 3-9-1 record.
