East Meadow's Rob Bright: A Tackling Machine

East Meadow natives Rob Bright and Rob Healy honored for sensational 2013 seasons at their respective schools.

East Meadow's Rob Bright totaled 128 tackles in 2013 for LIU Post, and that earned him a spot on the Don Hansen Football Gazette All-Super Region One third-team, which was announced Wednesday.

He also added six pass breakups, 3.5 sacks, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble on the season. He also recorded his first career receiving touchdown in a 58-0 win against Pace on Oct. 19.

Bright, who averaged the 10th-most tackles in the nation (11.7), finished with 239 tackles for his four-year career, 25 of which were for a loss. He had seven sacks, five forced fumbles and two interceptions all-time as well.

East Meadow's Rob Healy, who goes to East Stroudsburg University, was also named to the third-team, as he tallied 1,129 yards in 2013. He averaged 6.4 yards per carry and 102.6 per game.
