East Meadow HS Basketball Coach Honored
Bethany LeSueur, coach of the Lady Jets, was recognized by Garden City High School and the Men's Association of Garden City.
Bethany LeSueur, coach of East Meadow High School's Lady Jets, was honored by Garden City High School and the Men’s Association of Garden City at halftime of a girls basketball game on Saturday.
The event was highlighted by the presentation of a framed replica of Bethany’s number 23 and the unfurling of a banner denoting LeSueur’s career accomplishments.
LeSueur, a Garden City native, is Long Island’s all-time leading scorer, ending her career with 3,157 points and ranks as the state's No. 2 all-time scorer. She was named Miss New York State Basketball, was a two-time Gatorade NY State Player of the Year and led Garden City to three NY State Final Four’s while accumulating a 121-12 record with the team. After graduation, she went on to star at Georgetown University, being named team MVP for the 2005-2006 season.
