East Meadow Alum Leads Syracuse Women's Soccer to Shutout Win

Sophomore Brittany Anghel collected her fifth shutout of the season.

Goalkeeper Brittany Anghel, of East Meadow, collected her fifth shutout of the season and 10th of her career on Sunday as the Syracuse women’s soccer team (3-4-3, 2-2) defeated Big East rival Villanova (4-6-2, 0-4) by a score of 1-0 at the SU Soccer Stadium.

Anghel, a sophomore, is now tied for seventh on Syracuse’s single-season shutouts record list and fourth on the career shutouts list. Anghel also recorded a season-high six saves.
