Meadowbrook Student Wins Senator Hannon's Law Contest

Britney Cardona proposed that underground electricity cores should be installed.

Britney Cardona, a student at Meadowbrook Elementary School, was recently awarded first place in Senator Kemp Hannon’s 2013 “There Ought To Be A Law” Competition.

The contest honors ideas for new laws  by local fifth and sixth grade students from schools in Hannon’s Senate District.

Cardona proposed that underground electricity cores should be installed.

"After Superstorm Sandy, many people lost power," she said. "Underground cores can help avoid most power outages.”
