McVey Students Enter 'World of Jump Roping'

The event kicked off 'Red Ribbon Week' at McVey Elementary School.

Students at McVey Elementary School were primed for a week-long series of events, kicking off Red Ribbon Week with a special assembly this week.

Professional athlete, role model, entertainer, and educator Mark Rothstein of "World of Rope Jumping," which is a movement-based wellness and character education program, challenged students to engage in cardiovascular fitness, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle.

Rothstein's interactive presentation reinforced character building elements such as kindness, respect, trying one's best, positive choices, drug-free living, politeness, teamwork and honesty through the sport of rope jumping, a favorite among many students at the elementary school level.
