Tail Waggin' Tutor Dogs

The favorite "Tail Waggin' Tutor Dogs" are back at the East Meadow Public Library by popular demand for those in grades one through five. As some children are afraid to read in front of adults or other children, the tutor dogs give them a chance to practice their reading skills in front of someone who is non-judgemental. This program has had proven success in the improvement of children's reading after participating in the program. All dogs are certified by Therapy Dogs International and have to pass a special test before coming to the library.

Registration is required. Please contact the library to sign your child up.

This event is free, but participants must report absences at least 24 before the program. Those with two absences without any sort of notification will be be allowed to continue.
