Panel Discussion on Media Literacy

How do you decide what's news and what's not? Can a blog or social media sites be trusted? Just because it's online, on TV or in print, does that make it real?

Learn how to decipher fact from fiction in a program sponsored by the Press Club of Long Island and Hofstra on Wednesday, Oct. 27, featuring a news-gathering and news-judgment simulation, a panel discussion on media literacy and a buffet dinner.

The program, "How to Be A Smart News Consumer in the Digital Age," will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Hofstra Student Center Theater and Multi-Purpose Room following dinner at 6:30 p.m.
