Let's Talk About It: Picturing America-Land of Opportunity Book Discussions at EMPL

Through a grant from the American Library Association and the National Endowment of the Humanities, the East Meadow Public Library presents the last in a series of five book discussions. "Dreaming in Cuban" by Cristina Garcia will be the subject of the next session, to be held on Jan. 31 at 3 p.m.

"Dreaming in Cuban" is the moving story of three generations of women whose ties to Cuba simultaneously draw them closer while forcing them apart. Each woman struggles to come to terms with her true identity.

The scholars are Dr. Marion Wrenn of Princeton University and Barbara Applegate, Director of the Hillwood Art Museum at C.W. Post.
