East Meadow Student Awarded Scholarship

Bryan Lehman of East Meadow High School was awarded a $500 scholarship at the 19th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon.

Bryan Lehman of East Meadow High School, was recently awarded a $500 scholarship at the CSEA Nassau Local 830's 19th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon in Baldwin.

This event honored the life and times of Dr. King, and served to preserve his “dream” for future generations. The scholarships were provided to the children of CSEA members.

More than 150 people attended, as well as several dignitaries including, Town of Hempstead Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby, and Nassau County Legislators Wayne Wink, Robert Troiano and Dave Denenberg.

CSEA Nassau Local 830 is Nassau County’s largest public service union with more than 9,000 members.  It is part of CSEA Long Island Region One with 55,000 members and statewide CSEA led by President Danny Donohue with more than 300,000 members.
