East Meadow School District Summer Maintenance Report

A report from Patrick Pizzo, director of facilities and operations in the district.

During the month of August, 50 work orders were submitted to the facilities department, and 63 work orders were completed district-wide.

The maintenance department repaired exterior lights throughout the district and installed electrical lined to accommodate new Smart Boards in all schools.

  • Repair of corridor wall tiles is in progress in several locations throughout the building.
  • Maintainers rebuilt and repaired several sections of outdoor sprinkler systems.
  • Reconstruction of outside overhangs has continued in several locations.

  • Electrical and plumbing repairs were completed in classrooms and corridors.
  • Carpenters and masons completed repairs in various locations throughout the building.

  • Plumbing and electrical repairs were completed throughout the building.
  • Carpenters constructed shelf storage and repaired doors in several locations.

  • Painting of trim (door frames, windows and shelves) has continued.
  • Painting of the kitchen and nurse's office is complete.
  • Painting of the walls and trim in the gymnasium and ceiling, walls and trim in the all purpose room is complete.
  • Carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs were completed in several locations.

  • Plumbing and electrical repairs were completed throughout the building.

  • Electrical repairs were completed in several locations.
  • Repairs to several sections of the outdoor sprinkler system continued.
  • Masonry repairs are in progress under the 2010-11 capital improvement program.

  • District masons completed several repairs to the exterior of the building.
  • Plumbers completed repairs to the outdoor sprinkler system.
  • Plumbing and electrical repairs were completed in several locations.
  • Electrical lines were run in classrooms to accommodate IEP requirements.
  • Electrical and masonry repairs were completed for the sports tower.
  • Contractors replaced a large area of the parking lot under the 2010-11 capital improvement program.

  • Electricians ran new electrical lines to accommodate IEP requirements.
  • Maintainers installed cabinets and appliances in the new special education life skills classroom.
  • Plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs were completed in several locations, including major plumbing repairs in the girls locker room.

  • Electrical, carpentry and plumbing repairs were completed throughout the building.

Hi Karen, Thanks for asking about the position(s) at GCA. There are currently a couple of positionsRead More that need filled. The higher, more difficult positions to fill would include Latin 2, AP European History, and the Omnibus - a conglomerate of classes characteristic of classical education. Because we are a Christian school, each of our teachers is required to articulate the Christian gospel through all of their subject areas and to do so from a Scripturally literate point of view. As far as the salary is concerned, that becomes an issue between the candidate and the board and is not handled directly by myself.
