Clarke Middle School Named 2011 National Ribbon School of Excellence

has been named a 2011 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

The Blue Ribbon Program honors schools whose students achieve at very high levels. The program is part of a larger Department of Education effort to identify and disseminate knowledge regarding the best school leadership and teaching practices.   

“At Clarke Middle School, we continually strive to help students realize their full potential," Principal Stacy Breslin said. "Our goal is to attend to the academic, social and emotional needs of our youngsters. The East Meadow School District community is committed to fostering an environment that encourages students to take advantage of opportunities that will open doors to new ideas and create a desire to learn and explore. It is an honor to be recognized by the United States Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School.”

"We are very proud that our W.T. Clarke Middle School has been named by the U.S. Department of Education as a 2011 National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence," East Meadow Superintendent of Schools Louis DeAngelo said. "The entire learning community at Clarke Middle School, under the direction of Principal Stacy Breslin, clearly exemplifies the tenets of the Blue Ribbon Program and it is gratifying for me, as Superintendent of Schools, to have their efforts and accomplishments recognized by the Education Department's National Blue Ribbon Program."
