Bowling Green Student Wins Senator Hannon's Law Contest

Anthony Desimine proposed that students who are caught bullying should go to court.

Anthony Desimine, a student at Bowling Green Elementary School, was recently awarded first place in Senator Kemp Hannon’s 2013 “There Ought To Be A Law” Competition.

The contest honors ideas for new laws, as conceived by local fifth and sixth grade students from schools in Hannon’s senate district.

Desimine proposed that any child caught bullying another student should have to go to court.

"If proven guilty, they could go to a juvenile detention center for one to two weeks," he said. "Kids get bullied for no reason.”
