Barnum Woods Raises Funds for March of Dimes Foundation

Student Council raised the funds by requesting $1 donations from students and staff.

The Barnum Woods Elementary School Student Council recently donated $700 to the March of Dimes Foundation, according to the East Meadow School District.

Student council advisers Pam Charish and Jennifer Bocklet said students raised the funds by requesting $1 donations from students and staff. Those who donated received student-made paper pumpkins featuring their names.

Chad Witsell, a community director with March of Dimes, which is a nonprofit organization that supports a healthier future for all babies, was on hand to accept the check donation and presented the student council with an honorary certificate.

Witsell thanked students for their generosity and encouraged them to remain benevolent and to serve as role models at their school.
