Barnum Woods Hosts Health Fair

Students spent the day learning about the body, hygiene and physical fitness

Students recently participated in Barnum Woods Elementary School's Ninth Annual Health Fair, according to the East Meadow School District.

The school sponsored an array of 20-minute age-appropriate workshops to assist students and staff in gaining knowledge about physical fitness, personal health and maintenance of a safe and healthy environment. The students were also educated on the many health resources that East Meadow has to offer.

Students attended physical education classes that included CrossFit, Zumba and hip hop dancing. Healthcare professionals also taught the children about the body and hygiene.

“The health fair was not only a success, but also a great way to bring the school and members of the East Meadow community together in the effort to become a more healthy community,” Barnum Woods Principal Gregory Bottari said.
