Another Spelling Bee Champ Moving on to Regionals

Woodland student Renata Quinto defeated 17 contestants during the schools' competition, making her the regional representative at the Feb. 9 Scripps Spelling Bee.

Renata Quinto, a Woodland Middle School student, captured first place in the school's 2014 spelling bee and now advances to the regional competition of the Scripps Spelling Bee at Hofstra University next month, according to the East Meadow School District.

Renata defeated 17 contestants during the school's competition, making her the regional representative at the Feb. 9 competition, a district press release said.

The following East Meadow School District students qualified to compete in the annual school spelling bee:
