More Secrets of the College Application Essay Process

Check the basement for pods!!!!!! Avoid cliches like the plague!!!! Students tend to write about the SAME THINGS everyone else writes about.

Taking a Generic Approach

Check the basement for pods or avoid these clichés like the plague:

i)        “I volunteer with special needs kids.”

ii)      “I am captain of our Mathlete team.”

iii)    “I play soccer and am on the fencing team.”

iv)    “I’m hardworking, ambitious, and driven.”

v)      “I am intellectually curious.”

vi)    “I get along well with my peers. They often look to me for leadership.”

vii)  “My grandfather’s death made me want to be a doctor.”
