Kemp Hannon Hosts East Meadow Hurricane Preparedness Seminar

The program will provide education for attendees, and all questions will be answered.

“With hurricane season for Long Island just around the corner, I’m pleased to announce I’m teaming up with LIPA to provide crucial storm preparedness and power restoration information to residents,” Sen. Kemp Hannon, R-Garden City, said.

The “Storm Restoration and Hurricane Preparedness Seminar” will be taking place on Aug. 1 at the and will begin at 11 a.m.  All are welcome and no reservations are required.

LIPA will be giving a 20-minute educational presentation addressing what residents need to know, and what LIPA’s internal process is before, during and after a major storm.  Following the presentation, LIPA representatives will answer storm preparedness and power restoration questions.

“I appreciate LIPA’s outreach, and their desire to showcase their improvements in communications,” said Hannon. “There are many precautions homeowners can take to protect themselves and their property from major storm damage.”
