Hannon Announces Jobs Express Website

New destination helps pair potential employers to employees.

Senator Kemp Hannon, R-Garden City, recently announced that New York State has launched a new “Jobs Express” website which will allow users to search for job openings in all regions of the state.

The new website contains tens of thousands of job openings all across New York.

“With the ‘Jobs Express’ website, New York is committed to making it easier for our residents to find jobs when and where they are available,” said Hannon. “We’re seeking to get employers to post their open positions on the site, and are encouraging every employer who needs workers to post their vacancies with the New York State Job Bank.”

The website is managed by the State Labor Department, who indicated they will update the job listings daily. The job postings are free.

“We’re doing everything we can to match employers with prospective employees,” Hannon said. “Even though New York’s unemployment rate is 7.8 percent, which is below the nationwide average, it’s still too high. Nassau County has lost  more than 12,000 private sector jobs in the past year.”
