Extension of Tax Deadline Granted for East Meadow School District Residents

Extension concerns the deadline by which school taxes must be paid in order avoid a penalty.

A tax deadline extension has been approved by the governor for several school districts, including East Meadow.

Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Receiver of Taxes Donald X. Clavin, Jr. had requested the extension for all school districts within the township, however the governor has signed an order that only includes districts which have independently requested an extension.

Accordingly, residents of the East Meadow School District may pay their school taxes, without penalty, until Dec. 4.

Residents of all other districts in Hempstead Town must make their payments by not later than Tuesday, Nov. 13, to avoid incurring a penalty.
