Muttontown Preserve Presents "Winter Trek" Hike

Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano announces that the Muttontown Preserve will host a guided "Winter Trek" hike on Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon. The preserve is located on Muttontown Lane, south of 25A, in East Norwich.

Approximately three miles long, the hike will focus on a variety of environments in the preserve, including wetlands, wooded trails and upland woods, open meadow, conifer stands and kettle ponds. The tour guide will also discuss the various plants and animals located throughout the preserve.

Enrollment for the hike costs $5 and is limited. Pre-registration is required by calling 516-571-8500 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The walk will begin at the Bill Paterson Nature Center on the preserve.
