These days, many of us are struggling to afford all of our family’s needs. Food stamp benefits can help put healthy food within reach!  1 in 10 people in Nassau County may be eligible for monthly benefits, but half are missing out. The average benefit for a Long Island household is about $270* per month. (*Benefits vary based on household size, income, and expenses.)

What: The Health and Welfare Council of Long Island along with the Nassau County Department of Labor will be hosting a FREE food stamp prescreening and application assistance workshop on June 12th 2012. Find out if you may be eligible for monthly electronic food stamp benefits! Helpful staff and computers will be available to help guide you through the prescreening and application website. It’s fast, easy, and private.

When: Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Please arrive by 10am. The event will run no later than 12:00 P.M.
