East Meadow Woman Will Be Keynote Speaker at Pathfinder Awards

Randi Shubin-Dresner is also the president and CEO of Island Harvest.

Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray will be honoring 10 women who live or work in the Town of Hempstead at the annual Pathfinder Awards Ceremony this Tuesday.

In addition to the presentation of the awards, there will be a theatrical performance and dynamic keynote speaker, Randi Shubin-Dresner.

Shubin-Dresner, of East Meadow is the president and CEO of Island Harvest. She has taken a respected relief charity and grown it into a powerhouse philanthropic organization.

Since Hurricane Sandy hit, Island Harvest has been serving a whole new population on Long Island. People who have donated to food banks and related charities in the past were added to the numbers of those being served by the organization.

Several women from across the Town of Hempstead are being recognized. Additionally, the supervisor will be presenting a posthumous award in recognition of the dedication of a past Hempstead town employee.
