Woman Arrested for Assault, Promoting Prisoner Contraband at County Jail

Police said that the suspect was found with heroine, marijuana, Xanax, Oxycondone and Clonazepam pills.

A Freeport woman was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting two officers while being searched and for allegedly promoting prisoner contraband in , police said.

According to police, when Carmen D. Webb, 51, was waiting to enter the visiting room of the jail, a correctional officer was alerted to Webb by his K-9 unit for possible narcotics.

During the search, Webb became combative and injured two officers, police said.

It was revealed that Webb had heroine, marijuana, seven Xanax pills, four Oxycondone pills, and eight Clonazepam pills on her person, police said.

The two officers were treated at a local hospital and released, authorities said.

Webb was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, four counts of first-degree promoting prisoner contraband and two counts of second-degree promoting prisoner contraband.
