UPDATE: Teens Struck by Car to be Discharged from NUMC Tuesday

The accident occurred at 1:43 p.m. at the intersection of Carman Avenue and Hempstead Turnpike.

According to Shelley Lotenberg, a spokeswoman for (NUMC), the three pedestrians are currently listed in satisfactory condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lotenberg added that two of the students were admitted to the pediatric unit of NUMC, while the other was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit.

The driver of the car was also listed in stable condition at the NUMC, and emergency department physicians have not determined yet if the driver will be admitted as well.

UPDATE: Lotenberg told Patch via email that the teens who were struck by the vehicle and the driver are the car are all expected to be discharged Tuesday.
