TD Bank Robbed in East Meadow

Police say the suspect took an unknown amount of proceeds.

Police are searching for a man who robbed TD Bank in East Meadow Sunday morning.

According officials, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the suspect entered the bank, located at 1600 Hempstead Tpke., and demanded an unspecified amount of money from a teller. After the teller obliged, the man walked out the front door and into the parking lot, police say.

There were six employees and two customers present at the time of the robbery, although nobody was injured, according to police.

The suspect is described to be a black male, between 6'0 and 6'1 with a medium build. Described to be between 25-30 years old, the man was allegedly wearing an orange-sleeved button down dress shirt, with a black tank top worn underneath. He also had brown tinted glasses and a bucket-type hat.

Detective request that anyone with information regarding the robbery call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Also, I don't believe the subhead is correct as a bank really does not have proceeds in the drawer, but rather cash, etc

It is confirmed to be the one on the corner of Hempstead Turnpike & Merrick Ave

Oy, the one closest to my house. That explains why I saw more helicopters around here yesterday than we did for the helicopter show at Eisenhower Park on Satruday. They were police helicopers.

It was the more westerly branch, on the corner of Merrick Avenue.

What's to look into? Neil Koenig was the owner. He's good friends with my cousin. My cousin toldRead More me "he couldn't make a go of it." The last time I was there was in December. The food was just ok and the service was horrible. Not one course was correct and we didn't even change anything from the menu description. Note to the waitress, the appetizer is NOT supposed to come for dessert!! And Rich is correct. The name was Buongusto's PieSano's. I hope the new owners (Lia's) stop serving Chocolate Mouse (should be Mousse) as per the sign on the Prospect Avenue side of the building.
