Routine Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust

The Bellerose man was found to be in possession of Oxycodone and Roxicodone when he was pulled over.

A Bellerose man was arrested for drug possession after a routine traffic stop on Newbridge Road in East Meadow Thursday, police said.

According to detectives, John Jakubowski, 31, was pulled over at 11:15 p.m. after he failed to signal while making a turn.

“He was found to be in possession of Oxycodone and Roxicodone,” police said.

According to Drugs.com, Roxicodone is a narcotic pain reliever. It works by dulling the pain perception center in the brain. It may also affect other body systems at higher doses.

Jakubowski has been charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and failing to signal a turn. There were no other people in the vehicle at the time of the arrest, police added.

This is a developing news story, and Patch will provide more information as it’s made available.
