A woman allegedly lied to cops about being mugged Friday in East Meadow, police told Patch.
“She said she was in the street, and that somebody came along and snatched her pocket book,” police said.
The woman, who’s identity was not disclosed, told law enforcement that the incident happened at Front Street and Gates Avenue in East Meadow. She allegedly said that, while in the street, someone came along and snatched her pocket book at approximately 11 a.m. Friday. Police later deemed that information to be a fabrication.
“As of right now, the woman has not been charged,” police added. “But the investigation is ongoing.”
