Police Seek Suspect in East Meadow Bank Robbery

Authorities are looking for a black woman in her mid to late 30s.

Nassau County Police are searching for a woman that was involved in a bank robbery that occurred in East Meadow on Sunday.

According to police, a woman entered TD Bank at 1600 Hempstead Turnpike around 1:55 p.m. and made a verbal demand for money. The teller complied and the suspect then fled into a light blue Audi A4 with Michigan plates.


The cash, which contained a dye pack, was recovered, police said.

Authorities said that earlier in the day, a woman entered a TD Bank located at 3222 Sunrise Highway in Wantagh, approached a teller and asked for cash.  The teller instructed her to fill out a withdrawal slip and pressed the panic button. The subject fled on foot with no proceeds in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported in either incident.

The suspect is described as a black woman in her mid to late 30s. She has dark hair with red highlights, a dark complexion and was wearing a multi-colored jacket and black pants.

Good job by the teller to give the dye pack.. that was smart! She/He should be commended! Now , where was the money recovered? .. I wonder if the traffic camera that is at corner Merrick Ave/Hemp Turnpike is being used to identify the Audi with Michigan plates...
