Police Nab Suspect in Watch Theft
Police spot stolen $20,000 wristwatch at East Meadow pawn shop, trace it back to air condition repair man who worked for Merrick company.
A Patek Philippe wristwatch allegedly stolen from a Kings Point home got a Westbury man collared, Nassau Police said.
Leayon Tallman, 37, was arrested Monday and charged with third degree grand larceny related to a June 15 theft at an East Road residence in Kings Point.
Tallman, employed as a repairman for Action Repair Service of Merrick, was sent to the Kings Point home to service an air conditioning unit, police said.

A 59-year-old male victim and police allege that Tallman took a $20,000 wristwatch from a bedroom closet while in the home checking an electrical panel.
The watch was later discovered at an East Meadow pawn shop by Nassau Police detectives conducting a routine review. Police said a friend of Tallman’s who had no knowledge of the theft pawned the watch. It has since been recovered.

Tallman was located on the grounds of the and taken into custody Monday. Tallman is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
