Steven Small was charged with second-degree menacing, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree stalking.

A Merrick man was arrested Friday after he allegedly threatened threatened a woman with a gun, cops said.

According to detectives, Steven R. Small, 50, was involved in an argument with a 36-year-old female victim. The argument escalated to the point where he allegedly pointed a .36 caliber handgun at her and threatened her.

She was able to leave the scene unharmed. Police said that Small continued to threaten the woman from March 28 until April 12 via text message and by driving past her home several times.

He was arrested at his home on Hewlett Avenue Friday without incident, and the .36 caliber handgun was found at his home, cops added.

Small has been charged with second-degree menacing, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree stalking. He was arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
